Roses From Strangers

I hope they gave you roses today.. when the curtains closed + the violins sung and your heart screamed out for validity. dry your eyes little butterfly. Your transformation has not gone unnoticed but movement can not stay still for you. You know the show must go on. Another act must come to play. Words must be spoken, pain must be felt. I watch you take a bow and break when there was no standing ovation. Your eyes metamorphosed into rivers and your knees stole a state of matter that didn’t belong to them. Strangers stare back but you crave a warmth their eyes can’t give you. darling you can’t blame the outsider when the love you ache for is within. Entombed deeper than even you can see. but you will feel. And when you feel, you cannot escape its force + you will have no desire to get away. It will become a drug so potent that nothing can sober its frequency. And within that billow, drift away my dear. And when “they” become “I”, the void will be filled you will no longer desire roses from strangers.
